Below you will find some local resources for help and support on the subject of bullying. This is by no means an exhaustive list. If you know of a resource that should be added to this list, please forward the information to us so that it may be added to this list.

Council Bluffs Schools “Safe Schools Hotline”

The Safe Schools Hotline is available 24 hours a day. The hotline may be used to anonymously report safety concerns such as bullying, harassment, suspected drug or alcohol use, vandalism, weapons, threats, potential suicides or anything related to the safety of our students, staff and facilities. Spanish-speaking counselors and translation services, representing more than 140 languages, are available, along with a TDD line (1-800-448-1833) that allows counselors to communicate with speech-impaired and deaf callers.

The Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network will automatically transfer you to the rape crisis center nearest you, anywhere in the nation.

Proud Horizons is a youth group in Omaha specifically for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and heterosexual youth ages 13 to 23. If you want to talk about coming out to family, school-mates, or even coworkers, or you are trying to decide how you feel about your sexuality, this is the place for you. Perhaps you are straight, but have a gay friend you want to support. This is also the place for you. Anyone genuinely interested in attending is welcome to show up.

School Resource Officers

School resource officers are Council Bluffs Police officers that are assigned directly to a school. They are a source to teachers, parents, and students for conferences or on individual basis, dealing with individual problems or questions.

Mission Statement: “We work to bring together a community collaboration to build healthy relationships among children and youth through theatre.” Their goal is to decrease, prevent & eliminate bullying & teen dating violence. "Bullying/Harassment
Bullying and harassment are not tolerated in Council Bluffs schools. All acts of bullying or harassment should be reported to a classroom teacher.  Specific written complaints may also be made to a building 
principal.  If the building principal is the object of the complaint, the Executive Director of Student & Family Services should be contacted at 712-328-6423.  A written response will be provided to all persons filing a written complaint."

Inner Power Dojo specializes in reality based self-defense skills. Their goal is to give their students the tools that they need to get home safely.
